Kapi is a native of Bradenton, and a graduate of Bayshore High School and Manatee Community College. Kapi’s journey as a three-year breast cancer survivor has profoundly transformed her perspective on life. For her and her family, this challenging experience became a silver lining for embracing every moment with gratitude and a newfound sense of purpose. With a family of charter captains – husband, 23-year-old daughter, and 17-year-old son, Kapi’s love for the water runs deep. Her husband’s retirement from the Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue after 35 years of service marked a new chapter as he embarked on a dolphin tour business. Together, they embrace the ocean’s beauty, spending countless moments on the water every clear sky moment.
Two years ago, Kapi had a thrilling milestone when she caught her first swordfish while boating—a moment of accomplishment and joy that remains etched in her heart. Beyond their aquatic adventures, Kapi’s family actively supports her daughter’s non-profit, Chastenation – Their Life, My Lens, to make a positive impact on others’ lives.
